Winter Dressage League (6 of 6) – 12.3.23

So delighted that we were able to run this competition as scheduled, even though we were never sure which weather forecast was the best to pay attention to. The forecasted snow turned Laurel View into a white wilderness on Thursday evening.  With bright blue skies on Friday leading to a tight frost going into Saturday it was hard to know how best to tackle the snow covered sand arena. Thankfully rain throughout the night left us with a virtually snow free vista on Sunday morning. Then after Andrew got busy with the tractor and rotivator, the outdoor arena worked out alright in the end.

Unfortunately a few competitors had to cancel as they had not been able to get their horses out to ride after Thursdays snow dump. But in the end we were very impressed with how many competitors made it to Laurel View to compete on the day. Thank you all for your efforts and support, hopefully you all enjoyed taking part and any folk that got rained on during the day, soon got home and dried off.

We are very grateful to Clare Fitzsimmons and Geraldine Lowry for coming from far and near (Dublin and Ballyrobert!) to judge at this competition and to their able scribes, Stephen Hewitt and Dawn McKeown for keeping up with all the paperwork.
