Sunglasses one minute, raincoats the next was the weather on the agenda for the third leg of the Laurel View Summer Dressage League on Sunday 15th July.
Another great entry of competitors put their best hoof forward for the judges. Taking her first turn in the dressage judge’s seat, Amy Neill made a very commendable job of scoring the Class 1 competitors performing the BD Intro B test. Delighted with their first place rosette were Diane Jones and Miss B; similarly satisfied with second were McCracken and Katherine Hall.
The Newcomers rode Prelim 7 in front of judge Jenny Hill. Ollie and Sophie Williams earned the top spot on the podium with Belle and Katrina Preston on the second step.
Prelim 12 was the test to test Class 3 competitors and it was down to Kelly Montgomery to sort out the scores. Coming out in first position was Mossbrook Ferrelle and Sylvia Henry, with Mile Lass and Amy Neill coming in second.
Jennifer Howes judged the Class 4 contenders riding Prelim 14. Ludovik K and Jill Hobson took home the red rosette, with the blue going to Hanbanana and Lisa Erskine.
Allan Dewhurst took the time to judge Class 5 entrants riding Novice 24 before riding in the Open class himself. Winning the red rosette was Runaway Rebel and Christine Newton with Lisa Dundee and Black Baroness the blue.
Alison Mastin Moore cast her well trained eye over the Open class, awarding Allan Dewhurst and Isaac a first for their Elementary test. Second went to Questhill Fantasy and Claire Sedgeman also riding the Elementary test.
Tom from Equi-Tog’s hat was dual purpose keeping both the sun and rain at bay while he captured the competitors on camera.
The fourth competition in the league is on the calendar for the 19th August; enter as soon as possible and preferably by noon on Wednesday 15th August. Test details are on the competitions page.
