Laurel View Outdoor Derby – 29.5.22

A lovely bright day for the Laurel View Outdoor Derby Competition on  Sunday 29th May. A good crowd of competitors, with nerves, adrenalin and enthusiasm mixing to give a really great atmosphere. A mixed course of 14 fences, decorated with colourful blooms and greenery, give competitors to think about as they navigated their way around the course. Clear rounds were low in number, but the efforts put by each and every rider could not be faulted.

Christine Smyth and Ben took first place in Class 1 with a super clear round, which had her heart rate racing at a serious level.

The 65cm competition was won with Hannah Kernohan and Wizard of Oz’s magic clear round, displaying their superb partnership.

A jump off kept things very competitive in the 80cm class, but it was Sarah Bates and Joey on their first visit to Laurel View who went home with the red rosette and treats.

Over the 95cm course Amy Steele and Big Adventure took the Derby course in their stride, winning the class with a fab clear round.

All those who took home rosettes are listed below and have earned their place on the top of the scoreboard. But everyone who took part should be very pleased with their efforts as they all give it a valiant try.

We have had a number of enquiries about when the next Derby or jumping competition will be, once we find a window in the schedule we will pop the details online so you can get your entries in for some more jumping action.
