Winter Dressage League (3 of 5) – 8.12.24

Festive fundraisers are always extra fun, but a downside of a December event is the disruption from Storm Darragh and his friends! But don’t worry if you couldn’t make it to this charity competition, you can still donate to Aware NI via the link just below.

Christmas jumpers, festive outfits and tinsel adorned horses and ponies made for a warm festive feel on a cold December day. Judges Ivor Harper-Hewitt and Martina McKinley had a varied day judging a wide range of tests, but also horses, ponies, dogs, hobby horses and goats! Thanks to both for their expertise and their generousity towards the charity. Appreciation to their scribes for their able assistance also. 

Listed below are all the results. Classes 1 – 6 are part of the Laurel View Winter Dressage League and the next leg will be here before we know it on Sunday 12th January 2025! The other classes were special additions for the charity show. The Freestyle to Music is always a real crowd pleaser and this show was no exception with performances based on Frozen, Grease & Wicked to name a few. The Dashing Dog Dressage gave canine friends their chance to come down the centre line. Next up was Santa’s Substitute Steed, when we had hobby horses getting a nicely choreographed work out, although we were a little disappointed that noone attempted spacehopper dressage!

Then the final two classes gave the Little Elves and Santa’s Senior Citizens another chance to win a wee prize for their excellent efforts.
