Winter Dressage League (1 of 6) – 7.10.12
Sun shone down on the start of the Winter League which always helps to put everyone in good form.
Lucy Webb was the first judge to take her position to watch the Prelim 7 test ridden by competitors in Class 3. This class proved to be one of several at this competition that was a very close call with ties for first and sixth place. Taking home the reds were Jill Hobson and Dawn McKeown riding Furisto Seven for a Secret and Ralph respectively.
The placings for Class 4 competitors who rode Prelim 15 in front of Janet Hall followed promptly. The results sheet saw Jill Hobson picking up more ribbons with a first for her test on Ludovik K and a second for the test she rode on Furisto Seven for a Secret.
Walk Trot Class 1 was next to finish, in it Geraldine Lowry had judged Lauren Hill on Laurel View Bob to be in the number one spot, her scoring placed Holly McKeown on Laurel View Sparky in second place.
Newcomers were next to be notified of their placings judged by Geraldine Lowry. The top spot riding the C Level test was also a tie between Ben McCormick on Holly and Kerry Taylor on Star.
Class 5 was the next to be tallied up and in this class judged by Janet Hall it was Alex Gordon who took the top two spots, getting the best tune out of Hot Sox, with Brookfield Bergerac a point or two behind in second.
Onto the Open, where Angelene Nicholson had the task of judging the most different tests, when the scores were added up the red rosette for the open class went to Marie McCormack and Miracle for their Elementary test, while second was awarded to Allan Dewhurst riding Isaac in the Medium.
That brought the days tests to a successful conclusion and grateful thanks must be expressed to all judges and scribes for their time and diligence. To the folk who ensure the arenas and surfaces are prepared properly. To Norma on call up for keeping it all going and to Tom from Equi-Tog for capturing the competitors working it.
