Brief CV for Sabrina Jones FBHS
In 1998 I became one of only approximately 50 Fellows of the British Horse Society worldwide. This followed a three day examination of riding, teaching and training from Novice levels to Prix St George dressage and Grade C show jumping, along with all round equestrian knowledge.
I have been fortunate to have extensive competition experience in dressage, show jumping and eventing, the experience of which I use to enhance the training I give to others.
• I am a List One Chief Assessor, examining to Fellowship level for the BHS
• BEF Coach Educator up to level 3 UKCC
• A British Eventing Accredited Trainer
• On the British Dressage Trainer Database and an approved Apprenticeship trainer
• A List 3 British Dressage Judge
I have an interest in teaching children and the idea of providing dressage training for under 12’s (BD Fledglings) was originally mine.
I am able to offer comprehensive training to riders and horses in both dressage and jumping from the most novice, to those competing at National Level. My training is based on the scales of training and getting the basics right. I am able to support and encourage the most nervous riders.
The majority of my pupils compete at grass root level and I train using modern coaching methods.
Eventing
Sabrina evented up to 4 star three day event level, including competing at Badminton. She produced two horses, both to 3rd place, in the Burghley Young Event Horse Finals. She won the British Hunter Trials Open Championships and is a British Eventing Accredited Trainer.
Show Jumping
Prior to concentrating on dressage Sabrina show jumped competing up to B & C level, qualifying numerous horses for Foxhunter Regional’s and winning up to 1.30m classes. Sabrina trained for many years with Olympic show jumping rider Peter Robeson.
Dressage
Sabrina has represented Great Britain internationally. Twice at Small Tour Level and also at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Germany with Wenica. She has won – The National Medium Dressage Championships, The National Dressage with Jumping Championships and both the British National and International Championships for Potential Young Dressage Horses.
She was also Reserve Champion in the National Novice Championships and the Potential International 4yr old Championships and has been placed 9 times at the National Championships.
Sabrina has trained numerous horses from complete novices to perform the Grand Prix movements.
In 2002 she was placed on the British Dressage Olympic Potential Young Horse Training Squad. She is also on the British Dressage Trainer Database and a List 3 British Dressage Judge. She currently trains with Emile Faurie and in the past has had valuable help from Ferdi Eilberg, Henk Von Bergan and David Hunt.
