STAR Charity Dressage Results (League 5 of 6) – 10.2.13
What a day! I don’t think it could have been any wetter, those competitors competing in the outdoor arena probably went home with webbed feet. And call up steward Norma was most definitely not the only one soaked to the skin and looking forward to a well deserved bath. But considering there was snow forecast we should probably consider ourselves lucky. A fabulous turnout of folk from far and wide came along to the fifth competition of the Winter League at Laurel View, this show doubled up as our Annual Charity Show, with all the proceeds going to STAR (Summer Team Aid Romania) Emma Fleming was the driving force behind this charity show, to raise funds to help with the very worthwhile work her and her fellow team members will endeavour to do in Romania this summer.

On behalf of Emma (although I know she has tried to thank you all individually and personally) I would like to extend grateful thanks to all the judges, scribes, stewards, scorers and miscellaneous helpers for their time and help to run the show. To all the competitors and their support teams for coming along and competing, it would have been pointless without you. Those that received some of the fab prizes and rosettes for winners today would want us to pass on our gratitude to the generous sponsors, Doagh Farm Feeds, Equestrian News NI, Old Mill Saddlery, Mulryan Saddlery and Stonebridge Feeds.
If you put a £1 or more into the hamper raffle, you will have to wait a little while longer before you discover who the lucky winner is, as we want to offer our riding school folk a chance to win too, so we plan to draw the hamper raffle next Saturday afternoon, after the Laurel View RDA Equine Car Boot Sale.
Anyone who purchased one of the Davis girls delights today also helped to add to the STAR fund (which was in excess of £1000 when we did a quick tally earlier this evening 🙂 )
