Indoor Derby – 28.1.24
Sunday 28th January turned out to be a lovely day to be utilising the indoor arenas at Laurel View. The numbers may have been small, but the enthusiasm and support amongst the competitors was in plentiful supply. The combination of fourteen fences in the course had a number of the competitors afraid that it was too much for them, but they all got into the arena and give it a jolly good go.
A superb clear round from Sophia McKay and Schumi put them in the top spot for the 65cm, then it was down to a jump off to decide the 2nd, 3rd and 4th places, this is always great for getting the adrenalin going. A jump off was also needed to decide the placings in the 80cm class and it was oh so very close, but the first place ribbon went to Debbie Bunting and Lily. Unfortunately there were no finishers to record for the 95cm class.
Thanks to all the competitors and their teams of supporters for coming along and taking part. Massive thanks to all the Laurel View team who pulled together to run the show, especially those that were thrown in at the deep end at the eleventh hour, you all managed your roles very well.
