Charity Dressage Show – 10.12.23

Some would say it was “quare weather for ducks” but I’m nearly sure the Laurel View ducks were hiding from the excessive precipitation at the third leg of the Laurel View Winter Dressage League too. Most involved in the show, reckoned we had made a good call, when we decided to utitise only the indoor arenas for the competition.

This was the annual charity show, this year for ME Research UK and it was great to see so many competitors in festive costume, helping to raise Christmas spirits and charitable sentiments, showing generousity towards this extremely worthy cause. Thanks to everyone for their support, we will announce the total raised once we have had a chance to tally up all the charitable contributions.  The donations bucket will be kept on the office counter for any extra contributions to be dropped in over the coming week. 🙂 

A massive shout out to Doagh Equestrian and Equi-Tog for their superb sponsorship and support of the charity show. The top winners of several classes gratefully accepted vouchers for Doagh Equestrian, helping them with their Christmas shopping or even a well deserved new year treat. Equi-Tog have very kindly insured that the Class 1 winners have lasting photographic momentoes of their win. They also agreed to video all the fabulous Freestyle to Music tests and have donated their filming fee to the charity funds.

As always we are indebted to our judges for lending their time and expertise, so many thanks to Diane Jones, Geraldine Lowry & Lucinda Webb. We also really appreciate the assistance of their scribes, helping to keep the scoresheets flowing towards the office for the calculatiing to be completed.

Huge thanks to the entire Laurel View team responsible for setting up, running and dismantling the show, you always do a cracker job.
