Twinkle Toes top at Templepatrick
Lots of new faces joining in the fun at the Laurel View Derby League Competition at Templepatrick on Sunday 14th October. Each entry adding value to the growing prize pot for the final.
Plenty of twists and turns meant that competitors got a great ride over the well built course, even if they didn’t make it to the jump off.
The 60cm class had two sets of jump offs to sort the clear rounds and four faulters. Deborah Geddis and Twinkle Toes, sped over the fences to claim the red ahead of Molly and Roberta Bradbury.
In the seventies it was left to the jump off to determine the rosette distribution. But it was Janet Craig and Jay who kept it all together to go clear in the jump off to claim first. Another blue for Roberta Bradbury, this time on board Jimmy Choo.
Plenty of clears over the 85cm course meant the jump offs certainly had the adrenaline flowing to see who could shave seconds off at the same time as avoiding toppling poles. Rosevale Spirit and Rhona Wilkinson were victorious with Kathy Delargy and Skylark Express only a fraction behind.
No clears at all over the metre, but still a jump off was called for to decide which of the four faulters took home the favoured red rosette. In the end Rock Café and Elaine Armstong performed best to take the top spot. Second was Cavalier Clover and Matthew Stark.
The Equi-Tog photographer like the competitors and arena party were glad to be in the indoor arena away from the chilly weather outdoors.
If you didn’t make it to Laurel View for this competition, don’t worry there is still opportunity to earn a spot in the final to vie for the cash prize fund. The next chance is on 18th November, once again with a 12.30pm start for the 60cms.
