This exciting new programme has been carefully designed to build upon the success of our popular Pony Days. While Pony Days provide a fantastic introduction to pony ownership and horsemanship, there is only so much that can be achieved in a single day. We know that confidence, independence and skill development come through repetition, practice and experience.
With this in mind, we created our Rider Development Camp.
Over four consecutive days, riders will have the opportunity to develop their skills progressively under the guidance of our experienced BHS-qualified coaches. Each day builds upon the last, allowing riders to strengthen their confidence, improve their decision-making and become more capable, independent horse people.
But this camp is about much more than simply spending more time in the saddle.
We wanted to create an experience that exposes riders to a wider range of equestrian disciplines, each offering unique challenges and valuable learning opportunities. Through a variety of activities, riders will develop not only their riding ability but also the qualities that make great equestrians: teamwork, empathy, discipline, accuracy, resilience and respect for the horse.
In a world where it can be easy to focus solely on results, we believe it is equally important to nurture a genuine love of horses, encourage curiosity and build a well-rounded understanding of horsemanship.
While we strive to develop these qualities in all of our regular lessons, the structure and duration of our Rider Development Camp allow us to explore them in far greater depth. By creating an environment where learning, riding, and horse care are interconnected, we can help riders develop not only as equestrians but also as confident, knowledgeable, and responsible young people.
This is more than just a Pony Day.
It is an opportunity to build confidence, develop independence, broaden knowledge and create lasting memories with friends who share the same passion for horses.
Places are limited, and we are incredibly excited to welcome riders to this new experience at Laurel View.
If your child is not currently riding with us but would be interested in joining the camp, please get in touch. We can arrange an assessment lesson at a special discounted rate to ensure the camp is the right fit for their current riding ability, ensuring they will get the most enjoyment from whichever of our summer experiences is best suited to them.

Our summer riding school activities are open to all children 6+, not just those currently riding with us, with sessions available for all different stages and experience levels.

This assessment lesson helps us get to know the rider, assess their confidence and ability, and recommend the most suitable option so they can enjoy the experience safely and gain as much from the sessions as possible.
